Public Comment: Proposed Revisions to Regulations for Educator Licensure and Preparation Program Approval: Available through January 2023

Welcome! This survey is designed to gather feedback on the proposed changes to the Regulations for Educator Licensure and Preparation Program Approval (603 CMR 7.00). The survey will be open until January 3, 2023. 

Your feedback is important to us, please know we read through each comment received and consider it for additional changes to the Regulations.  Thank you!


The proposed amendments will:

  • Extend the Pilot of Alternative Assessments by one year through June 30, 2025 and update language regarding the pilot period;
  • Add a new Provisional license option for Principals/Assistant Principals;
  • Add a new Military Spouse license;
  • Create a new out-of-state option for candidates to meet the Sheltered English Immersion endorsement requirement; and
  • Streamline and update other references within the regulations.
Please submit your public comment by January 3, 2023.  The Board is expected to vote on the proposed amendment in February at its regular monthly meeting scheduled on February 28, 2023.
 
Pursuant to its authority under M.G.L. c. 69, § 1B, and in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, M.G.L. c. 30A, § 3, the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is soliciting public comment on proposed amendments to 603 CMR 7.00, Educator Licensure and Preparation Program Approval Regulations.
