Community Partner Referral to Sussex Nightstop

Welcome to Sussex Nightstop - we are a Brighton & Hove charity that can offer young people age 16-25 years experiencing homelessness a safe, warm and friendly place to stay overnight in our welcoming host homes.

Nightstop stays are a short-term solution to homelessness. Whilst staying in Nightstop our service co-ordinators then work closely with our guests to link them with housing advice workers who can support in finding a more longer-term housing solution. We will also support our guests to access any other services that may be important to them achieving their housing plan. These could be matters relating to health, well-being, finance/benefits, work, study, social and so forth.

Our service is open for referrals between 9.00-3.00pm, Monday to Friday.

The ability for us to offer Nightstop placements is dependent on the number of volunteer hosts we have available to us. Please ring us on 07500 770 996 to check current availability before proceeding – we’re always happy to hear from you.

Young people who stay with Nightstop must meet the following criteria:

•    Have a Local Connection: has lived here for 6 out of the last 12 months or 2 out of the last 5 years, studying/working in the area, immediate family living in the local area
•    Have ID
•    Have access or rights to public funding such as benefits and housing access
•    Be able to manage their own needs and not require high levels of support from others to stay safe, well and manage independently
•    Have the potential to put a housing plan in place (with help from a housing advice worker)
•    Be prepared to sign up to Nightstop placement conditions

If you meet the above criteria, please complete this form together with the person who has recommended Nightstop to you. A service coordinator will get in touch with you to discuss next steps. You can meet our service coordinators in a short video and find out more about Sussex Nightstop here. You can also meet our hosts on Instagram.

Please note: For the best chance of a same-day placement we’d advise you to put in your referral form before 11.00am. We are not always able to set up a Nightstop placement on the same day that we receive a referral as it may not always be feasible to do everything we need to do to set up a safe placement in time, including meeting you face2face.
