2022 UXPA Boston Board (Self) Nomination

Nominate yourself for the UXPA Boston Board of Directors

We are looking for 5 dedicated leaders to nominate themselves for a Director position with UXPA Boston. Elections will take place at the 21st Annual Conference on Friday, October 14.

The term for these positions will run from January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2025 (a three-year term).

Board member responsibilities and expectations:
  • Attendance at monthly board member meetings (in-person or remote) is required - approximately 2 hours/month.
  • Commitment to keep UXPA Boston running smoothly, including responding to and being involved in decisions via email/Slack - potentially 15-30 minutes/day. Overall, a position on the board is more about administration than doing UX, and board members must be willing to chip in across various areas to make sure the organization keeps moving forward.
  • Commitment to supporting UXPA Boston's activities and events, including monthly member meetings, mentorship programs, separate committee initiatives, and other activities that support our vast membership - time commitment depends on the activity, around 5-10 hours/month.
  • Assist with the work involved in creating one of the greatest UX conferences around - larger time commitment required in the first five months of the year to prepare, including weekly 1-hour meetings in April.
  • Opportunity to volunteer for class officer positions (when available). Class officer positions are chosen from within the Board and include the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These are chosen yearly - time commitments for these roles are significant in maintaining the operations of the board and the organization as a whole.
Nominations will close 11:59 pm on Friday, September 2nd, 2022. Once all nominations are received, a page with everyone's information will be posted and sent to the membership to review.

All members who submit a nomination are invited to attend monthly member meeting events to introduce themselves to the membership. They are also encouraged to attend one of many board meetings to see what it's like to work together to improve our UX community.

If you have any questions about this process, please email president@uxpaboston.org
