MassBay STEM Mentor Program Scholarship Application - Fall 2022

Please read through the description and requirements for each available scholarship. One application is used for all scholarships.  You will be asked to select those scholarships for which you are applying. The application for these scholarships is accepted from October 12, 2022 - November 2, 2022. Scholarships will be awarded as credit to your student account. 

You must be matched with a STEM Mentor Program mentor and have met with your mentor at least once to be eligible for these scholarships.

Description:

STEM Mentor Program Scholarship – all STEM majors

This scholarship supports a STEM Division student pursuing an Associate Degree or Certificate. The student must be an active participant in the STEM Mentor Program.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
  • Declared STEM major pursuing Associate Degree or Certificate
  • Participates actively in the STEM Mentor Program (e.g. attended Kick-off Reception, planning meetings with mentor)
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher (for returning students)
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 7 credits in the award semester
  • Submit a 250-300 word essay explaining your journey to MassBay and how this scholarship would help you achieve your academic goals.
  • One paragraph email from mentor to SMP Manager (tgustafson@massbay.edu) acknowledging that the mentee has met with their mentor at least once and has identified areas to work on and/or activities to participate in together.

STEM Mentor Program Scholarship – Science majors

This scholarship supports a STEM Division student pursuing an Associate Degree in a science major (Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences & Safety, or General Studies (AS)). The student must be an active participant in the STEM Mentor Program.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
  • Declared STEM major pursuing Associate Degree or Certificate in a science major.
  • Participates actively in the STEM Mentor Program (e.g. attended Kick-off Reception, planning meetings with mentor)
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher (for returning students)
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 7 credits in the award semester
