Cities United and the City of Baltimore presents the Cities United 9th Annual Convening! 


Elevating Our Collective Power: Advancing an Interconnected System

The 9th Annual Convening is a 2 1/2 day celebration best described as Memorable, Connected, and Purposeful. Convening participants will make long-lasting memories and connect to new and old friends and colleagues while engaging in purposeful, solution-oriented, and thought-provoking sessions and workshops.

Over the last few years, we have witnessed what happens when we move as a collective voice. We now have increased understanding and support of community violence intervention strategies in more cities than ever before. This year's theme honors and celebrates the progress made as we Elevate Our Collective Power.

The Annual Convening is a celebration of progress; however, it is also a celebration of life. Alarming rates of homicides and racialized trauma continue to disproportionately impact young Black men and boys, their families and communities. This year's theme remembers and honors the lives lost and impacted by homicides and shootings through the commitment and dedication towards Advancing an Interconnected System. 

The Details:

Registration
  • Registration will open August 1, 2022.
  • Registration Costs:
    • Young Leaders (24 years of age and under): $150.00
    • Network Members: $250.00
    • Non-Network Members: $325.00
  • Registration confirms participation in all open convening sessions, resources, welcome bag, activities, and select meals. This includes tickets to Cities United's 1st Gala and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
  • Registration does not include invite-only activities, or airfare.

Venue/Lodging
  • The primary location of the event will take place at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor with offsite activities. Ground transportation to and from offsite activities will be provided. 
  • Participants will be able to secure their rooms during event registration beginning August 1, 2022. Participants are responsible for covering lodging expenses. Contracted rates range from $199-$239 per night.
