Digital Fabrication Communities (Consent)

Introduction and Consent

Introduction:

Fab labs bring together people and technology.   The Fab ecosystem is focused on design thinking with respect to digital fabrication, as well as the vital work launching and sustaining fab communities that are welcoming and effective.  This survey will inform what could be a new “Fab All-In” community-building curriculum and exchange that could be part of the “Academany” portfolio.  You input will help advance inclusion, diversity, self-sufficiently, community, and entrepreneurship within and across fab labs.  We use the phrase “All-In” to be welcoming of all people, by age, gender, nationality, ethnicity, income, and other aspects of our identities.

This survey is designed to hear about challenges and ideas you have for the social side of digital fabrication so that we can share learnings, collaborate, and grow.  You are welcome (and encouraged) to share the link to this survey with others who might be interested.  We apologize in advance that it is just in English, though we welcome general comments on this topic in other languages.

The survey is being conducted by the Fab Foundation, with support from Joel Cutcher-Gershenfeld, Brandeis University, and WayMark Analytics.

Before turning to a brief survey, there is what is called “informed and voluntary consent” that we ask you to review – so that your interests are protected when it comes to a survey such as this.
