Thank you for your interest in Brevard County Tourism + Lagoon Grant Program. 

VERY IMPORTANT: Please read the entire page to the end before you begin the application, paying special attention to all of the Necessary Important Documents section.

The primary purpose of the Tourism + Lagoon Grant Program is the development of projects that demonstrate a benefit to the health of the Indian River Lagoon and a positive impact to Brevard County tourism.

The following application is the first step to apply for Tourism + Lagoon Grant funding. Please allow approximately 30 minutes to complete the application form and upload the attachments. A copy of the PDF application form is available to you below in the NECESSARY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS section, please print it yourself or email Deborah Webster to request a PDF of the application. Each application shall only contain one project.

Please note that while completing the application you are
UNABLE TO SAVE your progress and go back at a later time. We encourage you to prepare for the application by printing the application PDF (see below in NECESSARY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS section) and assemble all of your data and descriptions needed before beginning the application.

The last question will give you the opportunity to upload your project documents, which are required for a complete application package. After your application has been received, a confirmation email will be sent to you confirming receipt and within (1) business day a copy of your application will be emailed to you.

Eligibility Requirements
  1. Project must be in the Indian River Lagoon Watershed AND in Brevard County.  Print this map and use as Attachment (1) 
  2. Grant funds are intended for physical projects, the effect of which can be seen and enjoyed by tourists. Examples: improving lagoon access, providing oyster beds, planting seagrass, cleaning litter from causeways. Grant funds may not be used for overhead such as rent, insurance, administrative costs or utilities nor can they be used for ongoing routine maintenance. 
  3. Matches can include volunteer labor at a rate of $28.54 per hour and construction materials.
  4. An applicant must be one of the following:
    •  A non-profit corporation that has been in existence for at least one year,
    •  A governmental entity within Brevard County (including the County),
    •  An academic institution.
  5. The Project must be open to the public at least part of the year.
  6. The Project must provide a benefit to the Indian River Lagoon AND have a positive impact on Space Coast Tourism.
  7. The Applicant agrees to comply with all legal, financial, reporting, and record maintenance requirements set forth by law, including all requirements under the Federal Americans with Disability Act.
  8. All items in application and all required attachments must be provided to receive funding consideration.
  9. Letters of Commitment from other funding partners MUST be included if there is a match.
  10. Detailed budget explaining exactly what the money will be used for must be included.
  11. To fulfill the contracting process you must submit the following documentation; an updated W-9, a Certificate of Insurance (a minimum of $1,000,000 General Liability) and the E-Verify MOU.

July 18, 2022........................................Beach Committee Mtg #3, Office of Tourism, 2pm, Ranking + Recommendations
July 27, 2022....................................Tourism Development Council Meeting, Recommendations + Funding Awards
August 16, 2022................................Brevard County Board of County Commissioners Final Approval
August 17, 2022................................Funding notification + execute contracts
October 1, 2022..............................Project Start Date
September 30, 2023.......................Grant Close-out Date 


Quarterly reports will be due after the contract has been executed and final report will be due 30 days after the project is completed.
