2022 Foundation of the AAGL: Exceptional Resident Award - Franklin D. Loffer, MD, FACOG Award Application

A passionate leader and advocate, Franklin D. Loffer, MD, FACOG has been a member since 1971 and worked diligently to develop and guide the organizational and medical policies of the AAGL. With a thoughtful approach and exceptional commitment, he has served the AAGL in the roles of Board President, AAGL Medical Director and Executive Vice-President, and Emeritus Medical Director of the Foundation of the AAGL (FAAGL). Dr. Loffer has been a mentor and champion to countless AAGL members and has made an impact on women’s health through his publications and teaching contributions to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Established in 2018, this award will honor Dr. Loffer’s leadership by providing support to bring an Ob/Gyn resident to AAGL’s 51st Global Congress in Aurora, Colorado, December 1-4, 2022. Third year residents selected by their chair to receive the 2022 AAGL Honorary resident member status are eligible to apply.


An FAAGL designated committee will review the applications and select a winner. The winner chosen will receive recognition at the annual AAGL Global Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynecology and a commemorative plaque. Award recognition and scholarships will be determined annually by the FAAGL Board of Directors.

Award Eligibility:

The nominee must demonstrate significant contributions as a Resident and meet the following requirements:

  • Selected as the “2022 Honorary AAGL Resident Member” by their CREOG Program Director.
  • If selected, the nominee will attend AAGL’s 51st Global Congress, in Aurora, Colorado, December 1-4, 2022, to accept the award in-person.
  • AAGL Honorary Resident Members may nominate themselves.
