Statewide Peer Support Survey

Clinical and non-clinical health care staff can experience a variety of emotionally impactful events (such as unanticipated outcomes, medical errors, or challenging interactions with patients or family members) during their regular work lives. Peer support – or support from another staff member who is trained to provide emotional assistance – is often helpful after these events.

To help make peer support more widely available, the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety, a non-regulatory Massachusetts state agency, is designing a new, statewide peer support network to serve clinical and non-clinical health care staff from hospitals and health care institutions across the state, connecting peers via phone or video call. This would be in addition to (and would not replace) any existing programs that your institution might already have in place.

Your input will help inform the design of this network so that it can be as helpful and easy to use as possible. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts.
