According to the US Department of Health and Human Services The National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards (CLAS) are a way to improve the quality of services provided to all individuals to help reduce health disparities and achieve health equity.

Course Objectives: By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Differentiate between culturally and linguistically appropriate and non-appropriate
terminology.
2. Describe problems with health literacy levels in society at large and trans community
more specifically.
3. Able to recite Multi-Modal Aspects of Gender Transition
4. Identify current trends in Transgender Health

Conclusion: Applying The National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards (CLAS) in transgender health care settings will improve the quality of services provided to transgender individuals to help reduce health disparities and achieve health equity.
