The Neurology Resident & Fellow Editors are seeking neurology residents to serve a three-year term as Editorial Board members for the Neurology Resident & Fellow Section. Responsibilities will begin in September 2023.

Responsibilities will include periodic manuscript review, assistance in writing manuscripts, recruiting others to write manuscripts on topics related to neurology education, generating ideas for the Section, and participation in monthly conference calls. New members are expected to dedicate an estimated 3 hours per month to the Section. Residents should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including having demonstrated strong writing ability and leadership potential. Those with a particular interest in medical education and teaching are particularly welcome.

Residents from accredited neurology training programs anywhere in the world are invited to apply. 
1. Are you a US trainee or an International trainee? *This question is required.
US trainees
To be eligible, residents must be starting their 2nd year of neurology training on July 1, 2023.  More specifically,  adult residents starting PGY3 July 1, 2023, or child neurology residents starting their second year of child neurology training [PGY4 or PGY5] July 1, 2023, are eligible.  Program directors can nominate residents or residents may nominate themselves.
International trainees: During the last year we have worked on adapting the eligibility requirements to broaden applicability to any accredited neurology training program anywhere in the world. To be eligible, neurology trainees must be adult or child neurology residents who have completed at least one full year of dedicated postgraduate neurology training (i.e., not including prior postgraduate training years on general, clinical and/or internal medicine). Program directors can nominate residents or residents may nominate themselves.  Evidence of English language ability (including, but not limited to, formal English qualifications or having studied/worked in an English-speaking environment) is essential. Responsibilities will begin in September 2023. 
Requirements:
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  • At least one peer-reviewed publication in English;
  • A brief personal statement (max. 500 words in one page) from the applicant must include a proposed new initiative or idea for improving the RFS;
  • Letter(s) of support from the applicant's Program Director to confirm eligibility and ensure the trainee can contribute the hours/responsibilities outlined above; The letter should clearly indicate where the nominees are in their training;
  • Desirable but not required:
    • Additional letters of support from other mentors (maximum of 1)
    • Peer review experience (e.g., Publons verified record)
