Example of Question Types Survey

2. MULTIPLE CHOICE: Standard multiple choice allowing participant to pick one option from a list.

Ex: Please select the political party you most closely align with. *This question is required.
3. CHOICE GRID: With this question type, the options correspond to the rows on the left, allowing the participant to assign one multiple choice option to each row.

Example: Rate each of the films below on a scale of 1-5. (1 = Do not like at all; 5 = Like very much) *This question is required.

4. DROPDOWN LIST: Similar to the prior question type, but each row receives a dropdown list for mix and match.

Ex: Rate how convincing you find each of the following statements to be. *This question is required.
6. DRAG AND DROP RANKING: This allows for a participant to click and drag word options into their preferred order.

Ex: Below are a list of musical genres. Drag and drop to rank them in order of genre you're most likely to listen to, with the top being the one you'd most likely listen to and the bottom being the one you'd be least likely to listen to. *This question is required. Order the items from the following list. First select an item with the spacebar to show a menu of possible ranking positions. Next, click a ranking position to order it in the ranked list. Note the menu will display more ordering options as you add items to the ranked list.
7. DRAG AND DROP SORT: Similar to the previous type, this allows participants to drag and drop the items and sort them into different groups based on preference.

Ex: Below are a list of computer manufacturers. Drag and drop them to show which brands you think of as reliable, and which brands you think of as unreliable. *This question is required. Group the following items into the provided categories. First select an item with the spacebar to show a menu of possible categories. Next click a category to add the item to the category.

8. CONTINUOUS SUM: This question type allows for the user to input a number in each row, and the total of the numbers can be set to a specific number.

Ex: Assign fault to the parties in the lawsuit. The total percentage must equal 100. If you think someone is not at fault, put 0.  *This question is required.

9. LOGIC: With logic, we can ask a question that is conditional to the answer to a previous one, and will only appear if you select a specific choice. 

Ex: Do you own a dog? (To see logic select "YES") *This question is required.
10. TEXT HIGHLIGHTER: Similar to the prior question type, here participants can highlight sections of a paragraph and indicate whether they liked or disliked that section of the paragraph.

Ex: In the following Shakespeare quote, highlight the the sections of the text you like and dislike in the context of how well they apply to the modern day person. *This question is required. Click on a word to initiate a text selection. Click again to complete the selection. Once you have text selected, you will have the option to tag or comment on the selected text. Click "Save" to submit your response and return to the survey or click "Cancel" to exit the dialogue without saving your response.

11. SLIDER: Allows participant to rate stimuli on a custom scale by clicking and dragging slider.

Ex: Rate the following statement on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least, and 10 being the greatest.

12. IMAGE SELECT: Similar to multiple choice, but rather than text options the participant is presented with images.

Ex: Which of the images below do you think represents you and your personality the best? *This question is required. Please select one of the following images.
13. IMAGE HEATMAP: This question type allows a participant to select a spot on a presented image and choose whether they like or dislike the selected element.

Ex: In the image below, select which elements you think represent FGA the best by clicking on the element and selecting whether like or dislike it. *This question is required. This question is unavailable for screen readers. Please proceed.

14. DIAL TESTING: Allows the participant to click and drag a slider as they watch a video, creating a line graph to display their reception to the stimuli over the course of playback.

Ex: While watching the video below, click and drag the slider while watching to continually rate how you feel about the information and visuals on screen. Keep your cursor on the slider at all times, and remember to constantly rate based on your feelings. *This question is required.
