Welcome - Survey Overview

Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) helps DC residents exploring entrepreneurship, and DC businesses open, operate and grow their business in DC in several ways including providing funding and financial management guidance through our District Capitalized program, other initiatives, and referrals to resource partners.

This Assessment is your 1st Step to Access DSLBD-supported funding and guidance. After completing this assessment, you will have:

completed one of the requirements for DSLBD funding and advanced consultations;
an email with customized recommendations for your business;
early access to District Capitalized events and alerts;
invitation to create a funding-readiness strategy (Passport); and
a business profile that will expedite registering for other DSLBD programs.

This survey will ask for:

basic information about you the owner and your business or business idea;
your past experience and challenges obtaining and using funding; and
your current financing needs for your business.

Here's how DSLBD will use your confidential responses:

Customize recommendations to your specific business' needs; and
Summarize data from all surveys (aggregate) to understand who we serve and identify equity issues so that DSLBD and our partners can improve our provision of services and funding.
