2022 Superintendent's High School Art Show Ekphrastics!

Ekphrastics refers to the literary and rhetorical trope of summoning up—through words—an impression of a visual stimulus, object, or scene. For the 2022 High School Art Show, OSPI wants to celebrate our student artists by sharing community-written ekphrastics about their art.
If you are interested in participating in April 2022 Art Show Ekphrastics, please fill out this interest form.
Here's how it works:
1) In early April, you will receive an email message with a link to the Art Show entries page to view this year's art.
2) Select one or more pieces of art that inspire you and write a short poem (10 lines max, please!).
3) You will have a two-week window to view art, write, and submit your poem and signed release form:
April 6 to April 20. Download the release form here.
4) Selected ekphrastic poems will be shared during the 2022 High School Art Show awards ceremony that will be streamed online on
May 26, 2022!
5) All participants will receive a certificate for their participation.
