Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners: Tools for Equity

Registration Form

For ENL and Bilingual teachers, this institute will focus on integrating culturally responsive-sustaining education (CR-SE) and academic language into grade-level standards-based instruction for multilingual learners (MLs). Framed around the book Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners: Tools for Equity participants will explore and apply topics ranging from integrating CR-SE into instruction, assets-based approaches to instruction, and strategies for building MLs’ academic language. These sessions will integrate research, best practice, and leave you with practical tools you can apply to your classrooms the next day. You will also receive a Padlet of additional resources and tools that you can continue to use after the institute ends. The twenty-one hour institute consists of two-hour synchronous virtual sessions plus one-hour asynchronous sessions for a total of 14 hours of synchronous PD and 7 hours of asynchronous PD. Sessions will be interactive with frequent opportunities for small group discussion, application to teachers’ contexts, and time for planning.
