Community Research and Action in the West Conference Submissions

CALL FOR PAPERS/PRESENTATIONS

13th Community Research & Action in the West Conference:

Promoting Critical Hope and Justice in a Time of Enduring Disasters

Deadline for proposal submission: January 10th, 2022, EXTENDED TO JANUARY 16TH.

Conference: Thursday February 24th and Friday February 25th

VIRTUAL

This conference is organized annually by graduate students and faculty in the region as a means for sharing research in progress, reflections on community research and action projects, dialogues on contemporary issues in social research, and issues of diversity and social justice. The theme of this 13th Community Action and Research in the West (CRA-W) Conference is Promoting Critical Hope and Justice in a Time of Enduring Disasters. This includes ongoing pandemics of violence against communities of color, COVID-19 and persistent health inequities, and disasters related to ecological degradation and climate change. We especially seek submissions related to one of these areas of social change-oriented scholarship and action occurring throughout the region and beyond.

Unique to this conference is the opportunity for submissions to describe scholarship and action initiatives at various stages of development including beginning stages. This is a particular feature of this conference because we hope to connect people across sectors, generations, and positionalities toward building relationships and future collaborations that can lead to socially just change.

Submissions:

Graduate and undergraduate students, community members and professionals in the non-profit sector, independent scholars and faculty are invited to propose presentations in a variety of formats:
