Helpful information about mirror plates & framing – Open Art Exhibition 2022 All two-dimensional artwork submitted to The Greenfield Gallery ‘Open Art Exhibition 2022’ should be framed (where appropriate) and have mirror plates attached. If your work is on a deep edged stretched canvas, mirror plates can be applied to these directly. Mirror plates look like this:

They are widely available from DIY shops – Boyes and Wilkinson’s for example supply them at good value for a pair. They usually come with small screws to attach them to your frame or directly to your artwork. Please make sure your mirror plates are of a good size. If mirror plates are too small, they are difficult to hang without damaging the frame. Please contact us if you have any questions about this. Please attach mirror plates securely to your artwork in the centre of the left and right vertical sides. For your artwork to be safe and secure, and covered by our insurance whilst on display, artworks need to be attached to the gallery wall with mirror plates. Please consider this when framing your work, and make sure that artworks arrive at Greenfield Arts with mirror plates attached – if they do not you will be asked to attach the mirror plates in situ, or take it away and bring it back with mirror plates attached.
