Successful Claims Handling - Liability and Workers’ Compensation
Every claim presents the challenge of achieving the best possible outcome while at the same time controlling costs. As city budgets continue to contract, legal fees continue to escalate, and when these costs are paid from self-insured dollars, they have a direct impact on a member’s bottom line. In this, interactive session, we will review key workers’ compensation and litigation management best practices with the goal of better controlling defense costs and utilizing your TPA.

Topics will include:
  • Establishing a relationship with your TPA team (Adjuster and Supervisor)
  • Communication with your Adjuster is key
  • Importance of initial reporting of claim to TPA (are you utilizing Company Nurse?)
  • Utilizing TPA Performance Standards & Litigation Management Policies and Procedures to maximum effect
  • Relationship with Defense Counsel
Who Should Attend
