Everest Group defines Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) as any software product or solution that captures data from documents (E.g. email, text, pdf, scanned documents, etc.), categorizes & extracts relevant data for further processing using AI technologies such as computer vision, OCR, NLP (Natural Language Processing), and machine/deep learning. These solutions can typically be integrated with internal applications, systems, and other automation platforms.

The client feedback collected as part of this process will be a key component in evaluating the capabilities of IDP technology providers on Everest Group's proprietary assessment framework - PEAK Matrix®.
