More about TechWomen Selection Committees

Participating in a selection panel is critical to the success of the program and is a great opportunity for our mentors and their network in STEM to be involved in TechWomen. This is particularly a good opportunity for community members outside of the Bay Area.

Typical Selection Committee Member Responsibilities
  • Review approximately 30-50 applications (the number of applications will vary by country). Committee members will receive materials via email and have at least two weeks to review and rate applications.
  • Rate and rank the applicants against established criteria.
  • Participate in a two-hour virtual meeting to identify semifinalists. Selection committee meetings will take place in February and March, 2022.
How much time is required?
Selection committee participation requires a major time commitment. Past selection committee members reported spending an average of 10-15 hours reviewing applications and participating in the meeting.

Who can participate?
  • Women and men who are motivated to make a positive impact in the fields of science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) -and-  are motivated by the TechWomen mission.
  • Country experts must have spent significant time in (1+ year) – or have deep knowledge about – the specified country or region. They may or may not have a connection to a technical field in STEM and may or may not be former TechWomen mentors.
This question requires a valid email address.
