2022 Energy Innovator Award (EIA) Nomination Form

About the Energy Innovator Award (EIA)

The American Public Power Association's Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments (DEED) program recognizes outstanding contributions to public power research and innovation with its Energy Innovator Award. The EIA honors utilities that have developed or applied creative, techniques and technologies to improve the efficient delivery of energy services in their communities through the implementation of new projects and programs.

Only APPA members who are current members of DEED and were members of the DEED program in 2021 are eligible to submit programs/projects for award consideration. DEED member utilities may submit only ONE application for this award each year.

The nominations received are scored by a panel of judges on the following criteria: creativity, resource efficiency, benefits to consumers, transferability, and project scope in relation to utility size.

Nominees may not include materials such as videotapes, software, or brochures which cannot be distributed to the judges. Instead, please provide narrative descriptions of any multimedia or audiovisual elements of your program. URLs (NOT embedded hyperlinks) with a description of the page can be provided in your responses.

Submission Instructions: Complete this survey form and hit submit. The form will automatically be sent to DEED program staff. Applicants will receive an email confirming submission of the nomination. Contact if you do not receive a confirmation of your nomination. Submit nominations no later than January 31, 2022. Please note that responses to the entire application may not exceed the length of six typed pages on 8.5" x 11" paper.
