The early information security professional competency self-assessment is composed of a series of statements designed to offer you insight into your management skills and abilities and to help you identify your strengths and opportunities for growth. Consider utilizing the self-assessment as a 360° tool. You might review your survey results with a trusted colleague, a mentor, or your supervisor and ask them to provide their perspective and insight into your skills and abilities.
Your responses to this self-assessment will be kept completely confidential. This is not a test and there are no right or wrong answers. Plan to set aside at least 30 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting as you will not be permitted to save and return to complete it at a later time. Please read each statement carefully, then rate yourself in terms of the degree to which you think you possess the attribute or perform the skill. Do not answer in terms of how you would like to see yourself, what you should be doing, or how you think others view you. Be as realistic and honest with yourself as possible.
Once you have completed the assessment, you will receive an email with the results. Save it and use it to guide your career planning. EDUCAUSE has many resources and programs designed to help you progress on your professional pathway.
