I check in with my manager at least once a month to ask whether they think I’m spending my time on the most important and impactful tasks.
I review and revise my priority list at least once a week.
I ask questions to learn what makes my tasks important and/or urgent.
I schedule blocks of time to work on my highest priority tasks at least once a week.
When I estimate how long it will take me to complete a task, I factor in my past experience, competing priorities, and delays that might occur.
When my manager gives me a task that requires me to shift my priorities, I discuss those potential trade-offs with my manager.
