ALE Accelerating Unfinished Learning Grant Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) Accelerating Unfinished Learning grant program. 

This grant is intended to identify unfinished learning and accelerate learning recovery through academic and social-emotional screening and individualizing learning plans.

This grant will provide: Funding through the 2022-23 school year to supplement ALE apportionment based on identified costs necessary to implement this model and achieve desired outcomes.

Participant expectations:
  • Identify students’ unfinished learning through academic and social/emotional screening.
  • Develop individualized learning plans that address identified gaps and accelerate learning recovery using ALE. 
  • Demonstrate if and how the program and supplemental funding impacted student outcomes.
This grant is available to public school districts, charter schools, and tribal compact schools. Grantees will be identified by a review process based on successful completion of this application, which requires:
  • Basic information about your project including participants, location, target population, etc.
  • Short essay responses describing your project and its equity alignments.
  • A brief activities map, budget, and list of evidence you will collect.
If your application is approved, next steps include:
  • District commitment to the project.
  • Up-to-date local district ALE board policy authorizing ALE.
  • District grant program lead will need to complete an iGrants form package. 
A copy of the application questions are available on the ALE Accelerating Unfinished Learning website. You may find it helpful to draft your responses in a word processing document and copy/paste them into this application when you are prepared to submit. Once you begin completing this application you have the ability to save your progress and continue at a later date using the save and continue later feature located in the top right corner of the page. 

A rolling review of applications will begin on January 17, 2022 and will continue monthly. The application will remain open until all funds are allocated.
