You are being asked to be a volunteer in a research study. The purpose of this study is to help us develop the Work ACCESS workplace assessment tool. You will review parts of the decision tree that we are using to match accommodation problems to solutions. You will be asked to review our list of solutions, the wording of the solutions, and factors impacting their match. The online survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
The risks involved are no greater than those involved in daily activities. You will not benefit from joining this study. You will have the option, however, to enter a periodic drawing for a $50 gift card. In accordance with Georgia state rules on lotteries/raffles, you may also enter our drawing without taking part in the study.
Your identity will be held confidential. You should be aware, however, that the experiment is not being run from a “secure” https server of the kind typically used to handle credit card transactions, so there is a small possibility that responses could be viewed by unauthorized third parties such as computer hackers. In general, the web page software will log as header lines the IP address of the machine you use to access this page (e.g.,102.403.506.807), but otherwise no other information will be stored unless you explicitly enter it. All data will be kept in a secured, limited access location. Your records will be encrypted and will be kept under a code number rather than by name. Your identity will not be revealed in any publication or presentation of the results of this research. We will comply with any applicable laws and regulations regarding confidentiality. To make sure that this research is being carried out in the proper way, the Georgia Institute of Technology IRB may review study records. The Office of Human Research Protections may also look at study records.
In order to take part in the survey, you must:
- Have experience using and/or recommending workplace accommodations
- Be 18 years old or older
- Work in and be participating from the United States
- Be fluent in written or spoken English
