To be considered for a 2022 Reaching Out organizer role, complete the following application by October 31, 2021. There is one application for all three programs: ROMBA, Out Women in Business, and the LGBT+ MBA Club Leadership Summit. Read more about each program below:

About ROMBA Conference
The 2022 ROMBA Conference will be held October 6-8, in Washington, D.C. Since our founding in 1999, teams of LGBT+ MBA have been selected to create our conference’s content and be part of an ever-growing legacy of innovation, leadership, and education in the LGBT+ community. The ROMBA Conference Organizing Team is made of 10 people, each of whom oversees an area of the conference content's planning.
Who can apply:

  • Currently enrolled MBAs

ROMBA Organizer Commitment:

  • ROMBA Conference Organizers are generally engaged for 10 months beginning in December through October; the busiest times include when the planning retreat is hosted, in July when session directors are selected, and during the lead-up to the conference from August through October.
  • Organizers are tasked with managing the content and flow of a major national conference. Different roles have slightly different timelines and commitments (e.g. overseeing tracks with competitions might be a bit of a later activity compared to building out an entrepreneur track's core content).
  • In addition to attending ROMBA, organizers will attend an onsite planning retreat in February or March 2022
  • All related travel, lodging, and planning expenses are covered for team members.

About Out Women in Business
The 2022 Out Women in Business Conference is tentatively scheduled for March 25 in New York City. Out Women in Business (OWIB) was launched in 2015 to raise the visibility and connectivity of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women in business (at all levels, regardless of an MBA). Since then, the event has become a marquee program for Reaching Out attracting speakers such as Geena Rocero, Tammy Smith, and Annise Parker. The OWIB Organizing Team is made of 6 people.
Who can apply:

  • Currently enrolled MBAs
  • This is open to all LBT+ professionals whether you have an MBA or not

OWIB Organizer Commitment:

  • OWIB Conference Organizers are generally engaged for 5 months beginning in November through March; virtual team meetings are held monthly starting in late November.
  • Organizers are tasked with setting the conference theme, planning breakouts, and plenary content, and working with the Reaching Out staff on logistics, marketing, and outreach.
  • The busiest period of the planning process will be the 6 weeks leading up to the conference.
  • All related travel, lodging, and planning expenses are covered for team members.

About Student Leadership Summit
The 2022 LGBT+ MBA Club Leadership is tentatively scheduled for April 22-23 in Chicago. In its 15th year, the leadership summit brings together rising club leaders from around the world to learn best practices, connect with peers, and find out how Reaching Out can support their club. The Student Leadership Summit Organizing Team is made of 6 people.
Who can apply:

  • Currently enrolled MBAs

OWIB Organizer Commitment:

  • LGBT+ MBA Club Leaders Summit Organizers are generally engaged for 6 months beginning in November through April; they participate in a monthly one-hour team call with content development and logistic working taking place between calls. These roles are almost exclusively content-focused with some minor logistics.
  • Of the three marquee events (ROMBA Conference, Out Women in Business, and The LGBT+ MBA Club Leaders Summit), this is the lowest overall commitment, but still requires a lot of thought and preparation for robust content.
