The City of Salem has been working to increase its tree canopy by planting trees throughout our city. Tree canopy refers to the total area of Salem that is shaded by trees.

We want to better understand your thoughts about trees. This information will help us improve City tree programs and policies and help us better address community needs and concerns. This information will also help us achieve our tree canopy goal of 28% by 2030. (In 2010 Salem’s tree canopy was 18%. By 2019 it had increased to 24%.)
