🧠 BREAKING DOWN BLACK TRAUMA: PTSD vs. CPTSDA
2-Hour Live Healing Seminar to Decode the Wounds We Carry In-Person | Culturally Grounded | Trauma-Informed

What if your anxiety, rage, depression, or emotional numbness wasn’t just random—but the residue of trauma that’s been misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or outright ignored?

For Black people, trauma is not a single incident—it is a continuous condition rooted in generational oppression, systemic violence, and internalized survival mechanisms. In this groundbreaking in-person gathering, we will break down the difference between PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)—and why Black trauma often fits the latter.

This isn’t a lecture—it’s a liberating decoding session.

Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Philippe SHOCK Matthews, trauma-informed Minister and pioneer of Africana Phenomenology, this intensive will:

🧬 Clarify the clinical vs. cultural definitions of PTSD and CPTSD
🔎 Explore how racial trauma manifests as complex trauma across generations
📚 Deconstruct medical gaslighting and misdiagnoses in Black mental health
🧘🏾 Introduce somatic and spiritual tools for interrupting trauma cycles
💭 Create space for collective processing and consciousness-raising

✊🏾 BLACK TRAUMA HAS A NAME—AND IT HAS A CURE
If you’ve ever been told to “get over it,” “man up,” or “pray it away,” this space is for you. If you've ever questioned why your healing hasn’t worked yet—this session will give you the language, the insight, and the tools to finally start breaking the cycle.
