Intro

The Chesapeake Bay Program is seeking input from partners, practitioners, advocates and others who want to increase tree canopy and forested buffers across the watershed.  The focus of this survey is on public outreach to encourage tree planting and maintenance.

This survey is a first step in identifying communications needs related to tree planting and maintenance, as well as lessons learned from successful (and less successful) outreach campaigns.  As an outcome of this project, we intend to share what we learn with the Bay restoration community to improve tree-related outreach.

For purposes of this survey, a “campaign” is any effort to reach out to the public and engage them, whether the campaign reaches the whole community within a focused time period, or is an ongoing effort to reach and engage individuals and groups.

For some people, this survey will only take a few minutes, while for others who have been more closely involved in tree campaigns, it will take somewhat longer. Survey responses will be aggregated, so they will not be connected to you personally, though we encourage you to provide contact information so the research team can reach out to you if needed to explore questions more deeply.

Whether you feel you know only a little or a lot about public outreach to encourage tree planting and maintenance, we encourage you to respond to this survey.  Your responses are valuable.  Thanks for taking part.
