Workshop/Intensive Proposal - District Clay Center

Are you interested in teaching a short-format workshop or a multi-week intensive with District Clay Center? We are happy to review proposals for classes in specialized ceramic techniques to host at our studio. Please fill out the following questions so we can review your proposal! 😄

About Us:
The District Clay Center is the largest and most complete ceramics arts center in the District of Columbia and the surrounding metropolitan area.
More than just a studio, a school, or a shared workspace, our facility caters to a diverse community of artists at all skill levels. We have physical spaces for all of the different programs and for every type of ceramic artist, including:
  • A 6,400 square foot studio in a renovated building dedicated to the arts and crafts
  • Open studios on Sunday, and the ability to drop in on other classes at no charge
  • Communal pottery tools, shelf space, glazes, and firing services
  • Community and Studio Artist programs offering advanced students extended studio access and much more
  • The District Clay Gallery, showcasing the ceramic work of outstanding and upcoming artists in the region
  • Community Clay!, our outreach program that brings free clay and ceramics classes to the youth of DC, with a focus on Wards 7 and 8

Our Pay Scale - Workshops:
Our pay rates for workshops depend on how many students enroll in a class. The pay brackets are as follows:
6-8 students:  $60/hour teaching stipend
9-11 students:  $90/hour teaching stipend
12-14 students:  $120/hr teaching stipend

Intensives:
Our pay rates for intensives is the Special Event rate, $60/hour.
