This intensive workshop will help you kick off your civics project planning for the 2021-22 school year! Through attending this session, you will be ready to start the year with a clear vision of what the student-led civics project will look like in your classroom or school, when and how it will take place, and what you can do at every stage of the process to make it a success for you and your students.
Participants will:
- gain an understanding of the defining components of high-quality projects by looking at a variety of examples;
- identify the supports, structures, and systems that can contribute to successful projects;
- examine resources and tools to draw on in their work; and
- plan for implementation in their particular context.
The four-hour workshop will be offered three times this fall:
- Option 1: Wednesday, August 25, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Option 2: Monday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 15, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- Option 3: Tuesday, September 28 and Thursday, September 30, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
This session is open to teachers, school leaders, and district leaders who will be supporting student-led civics projects in 2021-22.
