Philanthropy Awards 2021 - Emerging Leader Award

Emerging Leader in Philanthropy Award (2021)

The Emerging Leader in Philanthropy Award was established in 2021 by CMF and the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) Michigan Chapter. The award honors an emerging practitioner in the field for their demonstrated leadership, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and advocacy for social justice in their work. The award celebrates emerging leaders working in Michigan who have advanced connections in the field and shown support for peers in the emerging leader space. Emerging leaders include individuals from all career pathways, positions and ages with experience levels under 15 years.

Nomination Guidelines and Process
Nominees do not need to be a member of EPIP Michigan to qualify.

To nominate an individual please submit this online form, which includes request for the contact information of the nominator and nominee, along with a brief narrative describing the nominee's demonstrated leadership, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and advocacy for social justice in their work, as well as their efforts to advance connections in the field and support peers in the emerging leader space.

Nominations are due June 30, 2021.

The team of peer reviewers who are reading the nominations may request additional information to support the selection of final candidates, including contact information for two individuals who can serve as references for the nominee.

Selection and Recognition

A volunteer peer panel will review all nominations and select the award winner. We will contact all nominators with the results of the selection process by July 30.

Honorees will be notified of their nomination and selection as the award recipient via special call (or video call) hosted in collaboration with the nominator.

This year’s recipient will be honored during CMF's 49th Annual Conference, a virtual event taking place in October 2021.
