The work of the OSPI Special Education State Design Team will focus on a commitment to centering racial equity and diversity across all special education monitoring activities. The initial kick-off meeting for the State Design Team will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm PT. This kick-off meeting will explain the scope of work for the State Design Team, including information about the focus group meetings. Click here to register in advance for the September 14 kick-off meeting. We will post the session recording and materials.

The work of the focus area groups, including agendas, facilitation, and length/frequency of the virtual meetings, will be co-designed with members of each individual workgroup.

Partners will have the opportunity to provide feedback in multiple ways, including attending virtual meetings, phone calls, emails, review of draft documents, local meetings, etc. We welcome additional suggestions for ways to engage partners and the community.

We recognize that an online survey is just one method to express interest in participating on the State Design Team for your topic(s) of interest. If you or someone you know needs support with language access or a different way to connect, partners are invited to call us at 360-725-6075 or email WISM@k12.wa.us.

If you have any questions about the Special Education State Design Team or this survey, please contact WISM@k12.wa.us for more information.

We look forward to engaging in this partnership with you!
