Interest Form

The Department of Elementary & Secondary Education is developing a model Induction & Mentoring Handbook for novice principals, which will be released in Summer 2021. The Handbook will include evidence-based, actionable learning modules for use in implementing an Induction & Mentoring program that:
  • Centers anti-racist leadership competencies,
  • Elevates leadership skills necessary to ensure student success in PreK–12 schools, including the promotion of high-quality curriculum and evidence-based instruction, and
  • Underscores the role of the principal in supporting strong instructional talent within a building.
In the 2021-2022 school year, the Department will host a Professional Learning Network to support the use of the model Induction & Mentoring Handbook for novice principals in MA schools and districts. The model Handbook and Professional Learning Network will support schools and districts to meet the requirements of incoming and beginning administrator Induction & Mentoring programs (603 CMR 7.13).
