Safer Together survey

Have your say on our upcoming fuel management reserve tours

In partnership with Safer Together, Council is conducting high level assessments within 50 metres of our public reserves in relation to fire risk and will hold fuel management reserve tours within three identified high risk reserves.

Safer Together is an initiative that involves local government, fire and state land management agencies working alongside the community in reducing the risk of bushfire on both public and private land. Managing bushfire risk is an ongoing and shared responsibility where everyone has a role. Through engaging with communities, our approach ensures that local communities are involved in decision making about bushfire management all year round – taking a place based approach to bushfire planning, this means understanding what communities care about most, recognising the expertise that exists within communities and working to determine local solutions to reduce bushfire risk.

Tours will provide community members an opportunity to inspect reserves alongside members of Council and emergency fire services to discuss risk, potential fire behaviour within the reserve, types of vegetation present and how the community can prepare private property for a bushfire event.

Have your say on what information is delivered during the upcoming fuel management reserve tours by completing this short survey (5 minutes). Your feedback is extremely important to us.
