Dear Families and Community Organization Members:
In June 2020, the Massachusetts State Family Engagement Coalition released its Prenatal through Young Adulthood Family Engagement Framework. We have spent this year developing and beginning the rollout of modules related to the framework and training practitioners and family leaders on how to use the modules to help communities become familiar with the framework.
As part of our next steps and to add to the information we have gleaned through a series of virtual listening sessions last summer and again this past winter, we are hosting virtual listening sessions to hear from families and practitioners on family engagement experiences over the last year and to gather your feedback on a draft plan for developing additional implementation resources related to family engagement. These listening sessions will provide families, practitioners, community organizations, and other community members an opportunity to share their current experiences related to COVID-19, racial equity, and the continued reopening of schools, programs, and services as well as to provide suggestions for the state family engagement coalition to consider incorporating into the initial implementation plan development.
Throughout the few first weeks of May, we will host the listening sessions. These virtual listening sessions will be one hour in length and will be offered on various dates in May. If you are interested in participating in one or more of the virtual listening sessions, please complete the registration form below. There are two groups where the date and time and are still being determined (Vietnamese Speaking Community and Somali Speaking Community); if you are interested in participating in either of these two groups, please register for them and we will notify you when the date and time have been identified and will have a separate registration process to confirm your participation.
