Oregon Veterinarian RHD Vaccine Interest

The Oregon Department of Agriculture diagnosed a case of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHD) on March 24, 2021. While a domestically licensed RHD vaccine is not available for use in the United States, two vaccines are available in Europe. ODA is working with the USDA to enable importation of vaccine for use in Oregon. While the hope is to vaccinate as many susceptible rabbits as possible, some geographic restrictions will likely be necessary, and there may be a significant cost to the vaccine.
