Onondaga County: Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Application

(10.20.21) Since the launch of Onondaga County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (OCERA) in April, we have received nearly 7,000 unduplicated applications for aid. Out of an abundance of caution we are pausing the application process for OCERA. This pause is in effect so we can more accurately assess what, if any, funding may be left once the remaining applications have been processed. We are also waiting to hear from the US Treasury to see if Onondaga County will receive reallocated Federal Emergency Assistance funds. If we are a recipient of additional funds, we will reopen the OCERA application process.

(11.1.21) The City of Syracuse has allocated $1 million from the American Rescue Act Plan to assist tenants living in the City of Syracuse (only) with income at or between 81% to 100% AMI who owe rental arrears. These funds will follow the Onondaga County Emergency Rental Assistance plan (OCERA) with the exception of the income criteria. Click here to apply
