2021 Teach Ag Day celebration kit interest

2021 National Teach Ag Day Celebration Kit Host   

The National Association of Agricultural Educators through the National Teach Ag Campaign are looking for agricultural educators who are willing and able to host 2021 National Teach Ag Day celebrations using a kit full of activities, promotional materials and more in secondary and post-secondary programs across the country on Thursday, September 16, 2021. National Teach Ag Day is an initiative of NAAE as part of the National Teach Ag Campaign designed to encourage others to consider a career teaching agriculture and celebrate the positive contributions agriculture teachers make in our schools and communities. Selected programs receive the kit at no charge. 


What? 
Participate in the National Teach Ag Day webcast with your students (secondary or post-secondary).

Why? 
To showcase the benefits and rewards of teaching agriculture. 

Who? 
Secondary and post-secondary agricultural educators across the country. The NAAE National Teach Ag Campaign would like to have a minimum of one educator in every state participating with their kit on Thursday, September 16, 2021. 

How? 
The NAAE National Teach Ag Campaign will be delivering National Teach Ag Day via webcast on Thursday, September 16, 2021. The kits will be distributed to selected educators in August to use leading up to and during the 2021 National Teach Ag Day webcast. 

When? 
  • Thursday, September 16, 2021 - National Teach Ag Day 
Kit contents (not an inclusive list) valued at $150. Selected hosts receive the kits at no cost: 
  • Promotional flyers and posters for your classroom
  • Tagged giveaway items to tag students who should become ag teachers 
  • Buttons 
  • Ribbons
  • Interactive notebook
  • All printouts
  • Activities with materials and instructions for activities 
  • And much more! 
Requirements for all kit hosts: 
  • Current NAAE member (2020-2021 dues paid-check with your state dues remitter to ensure membership submission) You will also be required to be a dues-paying member for the 2021-2022  membership year at the time participation is confirmed in July and the host kits are shipped in August. 
  • Active participation throughout the day on September 16, 2021 from you (agricultural educator or teacher educator) and at least two students. 
  • Access to the webcast in your classroom (can view via the naae.org website and/or Facebook)
  • At least one device with access to social media on September 16, 2021 
  • Ability to share updates and real-time information with National Teach Ag Campaign through social, media, text or email. 
  • Willingness to provide prerecorded video of celebrations and planning to be used during the webcast including but not limited to photos and videos of the host kit unboxing, educator and student interviews and virtual program tours. 
Timeline: 
  • March 8 - May 3, 2021 Kit interest form available (interest forms must be submitted by 11:59pm EDT on Monday, May 3). 
  • July 2021 - Selected Kit host sites contacted and details confirmed 
  • August 2021 - Kits mailed to host sites, host sites review contents 
  • August/September 2021 - Host sites promoted 
  • August 2021 - Host site videos and photos captured  
  • Week of September 13 - Host sites use kit contents to begin National Teach Ag Day celebration preparation 
  • September 16, 2021 - National Teach Ag Day Celebration and webcast engagement
