Chicago Rents is a program that was created in response to COVID-19 to centralize landlord relationships across different housing programs. Through Chicago Rents' current programs, property partners are connected with tenants and may receive financial incentives, free advertising, tenant case management, and tenant rental assistance. In the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, each household receives supportive services from trained staff, laying the foundation for a positive landlord-tenant relationship. In the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program, property partners will work with Chicago Rents and follow Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) protocols.
