2021 AAPEX Repair Shop HQ Training Application

You are invited to submit a session proposal for the Repair Shop HQ training program at AAPEX 2021! AAPEX's Repair Shop HQ education program will include sessions on business management and technical training for service professionals and shop owners. Learn more about the program and how to apply below. 

Program Information 
  • Training sessions will be held at AAPEX 2021 in Las Vegas, NV from November 2 - 4, 2021. Applicants must be available to implement their session(s) during these dates.
  • Sessions on both business management and technical training will be included. 
  • Each session will be 2.5 hours in length (which includes a 10-15 minute break). Option available to request a double time slot. 
  • Applicants may apply to present multiple sessions (6 sessions may be submitted for consideration). 
  • Selected applicants will receive an honorarium of $500 per session, hotel accommodations for the length of the event, plus a $750 stipend towards airfare, meals, ground transportation, etc.
Session Selection 
  • Proposals will be evaluated by a panel of independent repair shop owners and technicians using a review process and scoring system. Selection criteria includes: relevance to the independent repair community, quality of proposed content and achievable learning outcomes, trainer qualifications and relevance to attendees' daily work and/or career.
  • Selection will be a two-step process with the panel. The first phase will be conducted individually online and the second phase will be a group collaboration.

  • Proposal submission period: February 10, 2021 - March 10, 2021 
  • Panel review period: March 15, 2020 - April 16, 2021  
  • Final sessions announced by: May 3, 2021 

How to Apply

Applicants may begin their form and return to it for completion at a later date. At the top of each application page, there is a tool bar with a button that reads "Save and continue later" in the top right-hand corner. Upon clicking this button, applicants will be prompted to enter their email address, verify their email address, and select "save." This action will prompt an email to be sent to the email address provided containing instructions on how to re-access the partially completed application. Session proposals should include: session type, content level, session title, session description/learner outcomes and additional requested details. Please note each applicant may submit up to six session proposals. All session proposals can be submitted using the same application form.
