2021 Ash Wednesday & Lent

On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, beginning at 4:30, we invite you to step into the season of Lent. Lent is a 40-day season of repentance, reflection, and ultimately a celebration at Easter. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Traditionally, we have an Ash Wednesday worship, which includes the imposition of ashes to symbolize humility before God and a recognition that we are mortal. It emphasizes that it’s time to reflect on what we need to change in our lives in order to live more fully, responsibly, and lovingly as a member of God’s created world.

We wish we could gather for worship. We can’t. But on Feb. 17, 4:30-5:30, you can drive by the church to receive ashes, a simple communion, a blessing, and a set of Lenten materials to use during your Lenten season at home. This includes a special Lenten Devotional with soup and bread recipes from members of our congregation! We’ll do this safely and distanced, masked face to masked face, and with love.

To help us prepare enough resources, please answer the simple questions below.

1. Will you come by the church for an Ash Wednesday blessing on Feb. 17? *This question is required.
2. If we stayed a little later, would you come?
2. On Ash Wednesday, we’ll be passing out a simple Lent at Home kit and devotional. Would you like one for yourself or your family? *This question is required.
