SURVEY OF COMPOSERS, ARRANGERS, AND DIRECTORS OF CHORAL MUSIC

You are being asked to participate in a voluntary research study collecting data for a book on how musical performance and compositional practices vary from genre-to-genre.  Participating in this study will involve answering questions about choices you make in directing a choir, arranging choral music, or composing music, and your participation will last approximately 30 minutes.  This is NOT a quiz about your knowledge of copyright law but rather an inquiry into your actual day-to-day musical practice.  Since rigid survey questions are often not sufficiently nuanced, you will have the opportunity to comment on your answers in Part IV of the survey.

IMPORTANT!  DO NOT TOGGLE BACK ON YOUR DEVICE!  YOUR INPUT WILL BE LOST!  IF YOU NEED TO REVISE AN ANSWER, USE THE "BACK" ICON ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

You always have the option not to answer any questions that you are uncomfortable answering, and you may quit the survey at any time.  Faculty, students, and staff who may see your information will maintain confidentiality to the extent of laws and university policies. Personal identifiers will not be collected, published, or presented.  If you would like to see a publication gathering and reporting our anonymous aggregate data, please visit www.ssrn.com after January 1, 2022, and perform an advanced search for author: “Heald” and title: “choral.”
