About this role

The Marketing & Communications Associate is responsible for managing the quality execution of our brand message to a diverse target audience nationwide. This position works closely with the Program and Projects Senior Associate, manages our agency partnership(s) and marketing vendors, creates and shares content via social media channels, and collaborates with our events, program, and relationship teams to ensure our goals and actions are continuously aligned.

This position is in our Boulder, Colorado office and is not virtual or remote.

 

What you might do in a week

Work with the Program team on crafting the communication strategy to grow our awareness among high-potential students and drive quality applications for the next classes of Greenhouse Scholars. Manage a project with our agency partner and internal staff to identify ways to dramatically increase registration for our Glass Half Full event in Denver. Develop and execute a plan to improve outcomes of the Venus de Miles ambassador program. Check on the metrics and optimize a current social media campaign to recruit volunteers for New Scholar selection. Oversee a large direct mail effort at the center of a comprehensive end-of-year giving campaign. Review and perfect a quarterly email newsletter that updates our community on our progress to date and tells an inspiring story about our community. Dig into ways to better leverage public relations to attract high-quality, celebrity-level speakers to next year’s Summer Symposium.

You are an adept project manager with advanced abilities in written and visual communications. You have a passion for connecting people to the purpose of a brand and understand how to orchestrate the mechanisms, channels, and tools at your disposal to achieve marketing goals. You also understand the importance of purposeful communication and how it aids in building, activating, and maintaining relationships. You have a keen eye for detail -- aiming at perfection, and are unafraid to challenge others to do the same. You are by nature a persuasive person with the ability to envision a solution, get others on board with your vision, and execute to achieve it. You are energized by running multiple projects at one time, juggling priorities, advocating for resources when needed, and pursuing success even under shifting circumstances.

 

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement effective communications that inform, recruit, activate, and retain community members.
  • Curate, write, and format quality and shareable content along with our agency and other marketing partners.
  • Manage the capture, creation, approval, and usage of all types of content—often in collaboration with key stakeholders (Scholars, supporters, partners).
  • Grow our audience across selected platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
  • Manage all other marketing channels and tactics such as print, web, environmental, SMS, email, digital influencers, pay-per-click advertising/promotions, etc.
  • Maximize software and systems that support and connect our donor and marketing data (e.g. Salesforce, MailChimp, Facebook Ad Manager, etc.)
  • Track, analyze, and communicate results via compelling reports and storytelling.

  • Familiarity with relevant systems and data such as Google/digital analytics, Salesforce, marketing automation, and social media management platforms
  • Highly versed in PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite
  • Public relations experience is a plus
  • 7+ years of work experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is mandatory

 

Compensation

$50,000 – 75,000 depending on experience
