Expand & Energize Connections

The Southern Association of Colleges and Employers is hosting the annual Employer Relations Summit virtually on June 23 - 24. This entire event will focus on employer relations!

The Program Committee is looking for current critical topics relevant to Employer Relations. Our mission is to craft a program that addresses topics pertinent to the needs of career services professionals and employer campus recruiters specializing in employer relations and university recruiting, respectively.

What you need to submit:

  • Session Title
  • Session Description (200 word max)
  • Learning Objective (at least 1)
  • Presenter CVs and Bios
SESSION FORMATS
Sessions for the summit can be in the following format
  • Breakout sessions: These 1 hour sessions should offer an in-depth exploration of the chosen topic and provide participants with relevant tangible takeaways. Breakout sessions will take place on Wednesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24, 2021.
SESSION TOPICS
Topics for any of these formats should address one or more of the needs of Employer Relations professionals. Preference will be given to programs in the areas of best practices, utilizing technology and data analytics in employer relations, and student, faculty, parent and alumni partnerships. Additionally, joint presentations are highly encouraged between employers and career service professionals or representatives from multiple schools.
  • Best Practices: Hybrid events as we move forward to fall 2021 and beyond and/or highlighting strategic employer development and unique programming in employer relations and talent development.
  • Utilizing technology and data analytics: How do you use technology and data to tell your story to campus, faculty, and employer partners? Include strategy, software/technology used and impact on employer relations goals. *We are not seeking a demo of the software you use, per se. Rather, we'd like to hear how you are using technology to create innovative solutions and how others can translate your successful models to what their needs are.
  • Student, faculty, and alumni partnerships: How do you engage students, faculty, and alumni in employer relations?  Peer advisor and ambassador programs, alumni networking events, faculty advisory boards, corporate sponsorships and student focus groups.
Additional topics to be considered may include:
Virtual "wins," experiential learning programs, and employer development/engagement strategies.

We very much look forward to receiving your breakout session proposals, and we thank you in advance for having the interest and taking the time to submit your program!
