I understand that the property listed above was built prior to 1978, and that all paint and coatings on the property are presumed to be lead-based paint unless a Vermont-licensed Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor has certified that the property is lead-free and the Department of Health has approved that written certification. I understand that, unless certified lead-free, all activities disturbing more than one square foot of paint must be done in a lead-safe manner in accordance with 18 VSA § 1760, regardless of the property’s rental status.

I certify that at this time I am exempt from the Inspection, Repair and Cleaning (IRC) Practices compliance statement requirements at 18 V.S.A. 1759 for the property listed above because the property is currently vacant or not being used for residential rental purposes, and therefore does not currently meet the definition of “rental target housing” in 18 VSA § 1751(b)(23).
