Ed Prep Program Approval Guidelines (Round 1) Public Comment

Overview

In the coming years, DESE will be staggering updates to various sections of the 2016 Program Approval Guidelines. This approach, albeit different, will allow us to be responsive to the knowns and unknows of the policy and practical context pre and post-COVID. This will also create space to engage meaningfully with various stakeholders while continuing to advance the momentum of work to improve novice educator readiness in the Commonwealth.

In support of this first round of updates, we have set up a survey to collect your perspective on the draft. In each section of the survey, you will find a link to the current version of the guidelines and the Draft for Public Comment. We ask that you complete a brief likert scale question in response to that specific section and also include open space for additional comment as needed. The last section speaks to the updates altogether and solicits early thinking or insight on upcoming rounds of updates. If you would prefer to provide detailed, line-edit feedback on the drafts, there are directions for doing so at the end of the survey.

The Ed Prep Team at DESE takes feedback provided during this public comment period very seriously and will revise drafts accordingly. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review and consider the individual impact these policies might have for you specifically, but also for their potential impact statewide.
This question requires a valid email address.
Are you providing comment as an individual, a representative of a group/organization or as a collective
Would you like to provide comment on the individual sections or skip directly to the overall section? Individual sections in this round of updates include: Context & Purpose, Program-Level & Instruction, Program Approval Overview, Interim Review, and National Accreditation.

Note: You do not have to provide comment on each individual section, you could skip one or more as needed. Your perspective on these individual sections is appreciated and will provide the type of specific feedback that is more likely to generate change in future iterations of the Guidelines. If you'd prefer, however, to comment on these sections holistically jumping to the overall section may be best.
