2020 Best Practices for Educators During a Global Crisis (Webinar #2)

Webinar #2:  School Climate and Culture: Recognizing, Building, and Honoring – Me, You, and Us

To lay the foundation for equitable educational practices, this session will explore the impact of who we are on what we do.  Culture is enmeshed in everything and plays a critical role in the spaces we occupy. Imagine being invisible and unheard, how would you express your needs, values, and aspirations?  How motivated would you be to pursue your dreams when feeling unseen and disregarded?  Educators inspire self-determination by responding to the significance of culture on a student’s interpersonal interactions and in their educational experience.  By deepening personal insight and identification of meaningful strategies, educators can increase culturally responsive, equity-driven education.

Emphasis will be placed on:
  • Understanding worldview, mental models, and implicit bias
  • Culturally responsive educational practices
  • Strategies to facilitate liberated learning

Date & Time:  Tuesday, January 12, 2021 | 3:00pm – 4:15pm
