EFCG CEO Session on DEI: Interest Form

Session Information

Date: Friday, January 15, 2021

Time: 1pm - 3pm ET

Venue: Online via Zoom

Session Information:

This past year has put the notion of holistic leadership in a different light for us. We are recognizing longstanding challenges that have disproportionately been impacting minoritized groups and communities for years and decades.  While A/E/C firms continue to try to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the industry, now more than ever, so many of us are pressed by the need to do much more. We are industry leaders who are motivated to use our positions to drive change - real change - but we’re still figuring out how to do so.

At EFCG, we want to use our platform to open up a broader conversation on improving DEI in the industry. We do not pretend to have all the solutions, nor do we believe that EFCG’s own internal DEI journey is complete. We do think, however, that we play a unique role in facilitating dialogue and collaboration among businesses and executives. We want to work with industry leaders to identify and make progress towards their goals. Together, we can ultimately make possible a stronger, more equitable future for the A/E/C industry.

As part of this effort, we are hosting an intimate discussion for CEOs and Presidents, which will offer a safe space for them to ask questions, hear from their peers on what difficulties they are facing and steps they’ve taken, and walk away with some initial ideas for a path forward.

This session will dive into questions including:

• What constitutes an inclusive climate and culture?
• What are the barriers to creating equitable and inclusive environments?
• What role does leadership play?

To facilitate this conversation, we are partnering with Dr. Lisa Black and Dr. Yvette E. Pearson. Together, they bring 45+ years of experience and expertise to DEI in K-12 and engineering education, research, and practice, working with leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives toward sustainable change.

Who should join? This session will welcome 10 CEOs and Presidents from different firms who want to be part of the solution but aren’t quite sure where to start. Consider this your place to begin.

Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

*If you are a CEO/President and would like to designate someone else for this session, or if you are not a CEO/President but would like to attend, please still fill out this form.
