MACN Nigeria Port Survey 2021

MACN Nigeria Port Survey 2021

Welcome to MACN
Introduction
Since 2012, the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) and the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi), have been part of several initiatives to build integrity and improve the operating environment in Nigerian Ports and Terminals. Government Agencies at Ports and Terminals in Nigeria have developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to guide their personnel, stakeholders and users of their services in order to reduce the risk of corruption and improve vessel and cargo clearance efficiency. This survey seeks to elicit feedback from private sector users of Nigerian ports and terminals on how well these objectives are being achieved.

Request to Take Survey
MACN is asking for your help to assess the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing clearance of vessels and cargoes across ports and terminals in Nigeria. We are asking you to help us rate the following:
a) to what the degree the SOPs are accessible and transparent to your business
b) to what the degree the SOPs are consistently applied and adhered to by government authorities in the port
c) to what the degree you can accurately assess the time and cost required to clear vessels and cargoes across ports and terminals in Nigeria.
d) if you were able to resolve challenges during vessel/cargo clearance by reporting to Nigerian Shippers Council and/or MACN/CBi.

Please note that all data will be collected anonymously via Alchemer and handled confidentially by MACN. The results of the survey will be aggregated and shared with project stakeholders, MACN members, and will be used to develop the next steps MACN should take to further improve the operating environment in Nigeria at port and terminal level.
